  • The Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue. This sucker's BIG (that's what she said).
  • The words "majestic steed" kept running through my head...

  • I ask you. What you can't see is how visitors emerge from his crotch. For real. I'm sure that was intentional.
  • As the leader of the Mongol Empire (the largest ever, by the way), one had to have a fierce look in one's eye. He nails it.
  • Love this detail. His fingers are the size of Volkswagens.
  • Question: Who polishes this?
  • This photo is a shout out to my Republican friends. You know who you are.
  • Our family truckster. "She may not be much to look at, but she'll get you where you need to go!" (And no, that's not a swastika sticker on the side. Hitler stole that design from the Mongolian knot. They had it first, and it symbolized eternity. Way to ruin that one, Adolph.)
  • So, when it's really hot, the Mongolian men liked to pull up their shirts, and let their bellies hang out (no matter how big or small their bellies were). Danica figured that she could trump all of them. She was right, resulting in, quite possibly, my favorite photo of the entire trip.
  • The legs hanging down by your ears. That's what pulls the whole look together.

  • Chimka "owning it" at Buddha's feet. There's a metaphor in here somewhere, I just know it...

  • So, one of the topping options at Pizza Hut was "Fragrant, juicy meats." I kid you not. No telling what KINDS of meats, but they were "fragrant," as well as "juicy." That still cracks me up. I'll look back at this when I'm 90 (god willing) and STILL be laughing.
  • Typical storefront in the "suburbs" of UB. I love the graphics of the food--coming at you in full, frontal 3-D splendor! CHERRIES--BAM! STRAWBERRIES--BAM! Although, somehow I wonder, is that what's REALLY for sale behind that non-descript door? Hmmm...
